Ravens Secure Back-to-Back AFC North Titles With Dominant Win Over Browns
The Baltimore Ravens clinched their second consecutive AFC North title with a decisive 35-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Saturday night at M&T Bank Stadium. This win not only secured the division championship but also earned the Ravens the AFC's No. 3 seed in the upcoming playoffs.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson delivered an impressive performance, completing 16 of 32 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns. This achievement made him the first player in NFL history to surpass 4,000 passing yards and 900 rushing yards in a single season. Running back Derrick Henry was also instrumental, rushing for 138 yards and scoring two touchdowns, including a 43-yard run in the fourth quarter.
The Ravens' defense played a pivotal role in the victory. Rookie cornerback Nate Wiggins intercepted a pass from Browns quarterback Bailey Zappe, returning it 26 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. Additionally, veteran cornerback Marlon Humphrey sealed the win with a 37-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Reflecting on the season, Jackson acknowledged the team's resilience. "Feels good. Hat and t-shirt game," he said, referring to the celebratory gear awarded to division champions. Looking ahead, Jackson emphasized the importance of focusing on the postseason. "I'm focused on the wild-card game, I'm not going to lie to you," he stated.
With the regular season concluded, the Ravens are set to host a Wild-Card game next week, aiming to advance further in the playoffs and make a strong push toward the Super Bowl.
