Ravens Secure Back-to-Back AFC North Titles With Dominant Win Over Browns
The Baltimore Ravens clinched their second consecutive AFC North title with a decisive 35-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Saturday night at M&T Bank Stadium. This win not only secured the division championship but also earned the Ravens the AFC's No. 3 seed in the upcoming playoffs.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson delivered an impressive performance, completing 16 of 32 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns. This achievement made him the first player in NFL history to surpass 4,000 passing yards and 900 rushing yards in a single season. Running back Derrick Henry was also instrumental, rushing for 138 yards and scoring two touchdowns, including a 43-yard run in the fourth quarter.
The Ravens' defense played a pivotal role in the victory. Rookie cornerback Nate Wiggins intercepted a pass from Bailey Zappe and returned it 26 yards for a touchdown, giving Baltimore an early 7-0 lead. Later, veteran cornerback Marlon Humphrey sealed the win with a 37-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
With the win, the Ravens finished the regular season with a 12-5 record, marking their third consecutive playoff appearance and their sixth in seven years. Their next challenge will be to advance past the Wild Card round, where they will face either the Los Angeles Chargers or the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Looking ahead, the Ravens are focused on their postseason goals. Jackson emphasized the importance of maintaining their momentum, stating, "I'm focused on the wild-card game, I'm not going to lie to you." The team is determined to build on their strong finish to the regular season as they aim for a deep playoff run.
