Baltimore Ravens Secure Back-to-Back AFC North Titles With Dominant Win Over Cleveland Browns

The Baltimore Ravens clinched their second consecutive AFC North title with a decisive 35-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns on January 4, 2025, at M&T Bank Stadium. This win not only secured the division championship but also earned the Ravens the AFC's No. 3 seed in the upcoming playoffs.

Quarterback Lamar Jackson delivered an impressive performance, completing 16 of 32 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns. This achievement made him the first player in NFL history to surpass 4,000 passing yards and 900 rushing yards in a single season. Running back Derrick Henry also contributed significantly, rushing for 138 yards and adding a 43-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Henry concluded his first season with the Ravens with 1,921 rushing yards and 18 total touchdowns.

The Ravens' defense played a pivotal role in the victory. Rookie cornerback Nate Wiggins intercepted a pass from Browns quarterback Bailey Zappe, returning it 26 yards for a touchdown. This play set the tone for the game, giving the Ravens an early 7-0 lead. Additionally, tight end Mark Andrews made a spectacular 30-yard catch, leading to a touchdown pass to Rashod Bateman, further solidifying the Ravens' dominance.

Despite the win, the Ravens faced a setback with the injury of wide receiver Zay Flowers. After catching one pass, Flowers suffered a knee injury and did not return to the game. In his absence, Rashod Bateman stepped up, leading the team with five receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown. The Ravens will need to monitor Flowers' recovery as they prepare for the postseason.

Looking ahead, the Ravens are set to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card round. The team is focused on maintaining their momentum and addressing any challenges posed by their opponents. Head coach John Harbaugh emphasized the importance of staying focused on the upcoming games, stating, "I'm focused on the wild-card game, I'm not going to lie to you."

As the Ravens embark on their playoff journey, they aim to build on their strong finish to the regular season and advance further in the postseason. With key players like Jackson and Henry leading the charge, the team is poised to make a significant impact in the playoffs.
